What do you do when you lose your way?

You’re travelling by rail from one rail station to another. You climb off the train and suddenly the people who were with you have simply dissappeared!

So what do you do?

  • Each person should keep their own train ticket. Young kids tickets are generally held by an adult.
  • Trains show railway maps above the seats as well as digital displays of arriving and destination stations.
  • Train tickets list the start station and end station
  • lost at a station – ask a person wearing a railway uniform for help you. Also, goto Enquiries or Ticket desk. They should be able to guide you or announce over the speaker system, that you are waiting for them at a particular place.
  • If you have smartphone, use Google maps to show directions, routes or a train app to show stations
  • Note: there are a number of different rail services e.g. circle line that are colour coded either inside or outside the coaches. In London, the Circle line is coded yellow. Elizabeth line is purple, etc. The colour coding is helpful to find your way on the underground rail system.
