Christmas is just over a month away!

I’m an artist, so I grabbed a few paints & brushes from our Art Shop and placed a childlike image of Christmas on canvas. The painting was supposed represent a typical Christmas day. A time to have fun, play games, open presents and eat a piece of turkey (and other things), whilst the old folks chuckled away in a merry mood.

So, I grabbed another canvas board and painted Jesus, Joseph & Mary. (3 wise men are there .. haha)

My wife saw this and remarked, “This is not Christmas!. Where is Jesus in a Manger, The Three Wise Men and The Star of Bethlehem?”

This left me perplexed!

Why do the paintings create different impressions of Christmas?

It turns out that Paganism is represented in the first painting and Christianity in the second. Well, that’s what I get from Wikipedia!

Woman used to practice pagan rituals to help families and communities live in peace, whilst men were basically warriors.

During Roman rule, Christianity became the preferred religion and a number of the pagan rituals were absorbed into the male dominated religion.
So, what do you think? Is there any truth behind this?
